The branch of agriculture that deals with the scientific study and operational practices of cultivating trees, shrubs and herbs is known as arboriculture.

The unwanted grasses or plants that grow in a cultivated area, it is known as weed. It also refers to the plants that hinder the growth of the main crop such as chenopodium album,bidens pilosa, amaranthus spp in maize.

The plants that are primarily grown for their medicinal values are known as medicinal crops. For example: Aloe vera, Lemongrass, Tulsi, Mint, Turmeric.
