Medicinal Crops

These crops are known as winter crops as they are sown in winter/fall and harvested in spring. The crop seeds are sown from October to December and harvested from April to June. For Example: wheat, garlic, peas, grams, chickpea, coriander.

Crops that produce starch rich seed which are consumed just like cereals but are produce of non grass species. For example: quinoa, buckwheat, chiaseeds.

The study of genes and their interactions is called genomics. Genomics deals with the study of structure, function and evolution of genes or genomes.
